Some fun effect using the pivot point in Flash
In this Macromedia Flash tutorial you will see how to make good use of the pivot point for making animation a bit easier.
1.
Start with a black background on your stage.
Then with the oval tool draw a red line, (a red stroke and no fill color)
2.
Right click and choose convert to symbol, then convert to movie clip.
Go to filters properties and give your movie clip a glow filter as in the image below.
3.
Now with your free transform tool selected click once on your movie clip, you will see a small cirlce in the middle this is called the pivot point, drag it to left left center as in the image below.
4.
Now make a copy of the oval, with the free transform tool rotate the new copy, you will notice that your rotation will rotate on the pivot points new place.
5.
Repeate copying and rotating untill your image looks like the one below.
6.
Select all the shapes you have made, right click and choose distribute to layers.
Then all your shapes should have its own layer.
Now in the layers panel you can delete the first layer you had, because its empty now.
7.
Now you have to do some repeating steps a few times.
In the time line leave the first layer at frame 1, then layer2 drag the keyframe to frame 2 layer 3 drag the keyframe to frame 3 and so on.
I tried to illustrate it below.
8.
Select frame 20 for every layer, and right click choose create new keyframe.
And you should be done, try to play your movie.
